Mexican Mama

If I was a real food blogger I'd be filling this review of Mamasita with crazy Spanish words that no one knows the meanings of other than Mamasita staff. Oh, and Spanish speakers. But as I'm just a poser blogger, I won't. Instead, I can tell you that you must, must, MUST try the grilled corn on the cob thing. The mushroom quesadilla was a close second (I can get away with saying quesadilla, they have them at Taco Bills), and the stuffed chilli was pretty tasty. But I wasn't a fan of the soft tacos, or the corn chip towers, or the quinoa pudding. Not that they were bad, they just didn't live up to the hype of being part of Melbourne's new home of 'real' Mexican food. At the time, I thought I loved this place: the trendy fit-out and the queue for a table probably contributed to a sense that I was somewhere spesh. Be sure to try it out. Take some out-of-towners (they'll love it!). But for me, on reflection, I've decided I'm not going to rush back there in a hurry. There are just too many other places on my to-eat list.
